How to tell which file you have
Three checks, about a minute in total. None needs any technical skill.
- Look at where the file came from. A store page shows the package name: after
id=in a Google Play address, at the end of an APKPure address, on the "Package Name" line on Uptodown. A file sent in a chat shows nothing, which is itself the answer: you do not know what it is. - Compare the version and size. On your phone, open Settings, then Apps, then the app. The version is at the bottom of that screen. If the chat said "latest version" and the number matches none of the store listings, it is another file.
- Read the permissions before you open it. A betting shell needs the internet. It has no reason to ask for your contacts, your SMS or control of other apps.

Why the app asks for an ID before anything else
If an app opens straight onto a sign-in screen and has no "create account" button, it was built for issued IDs. That is the book model: the ID and its password come from a person, not from a sign-up page. It has three consequences worth knowing before you use one:
- you cannot reset that password yourself, because you never set it;
- your balance sits on a panel someone else controls;
- if the person who issued the ID stops answering, the app has nobody else to send you to.
